Marlette Community Schools are closed Wednesday, January 17. Red Raider Care will be open. Please email Tiffany Brooks at tbrooks@marletteschools.org if your child(ren) need to attend.

Our teams are ready to dribble it out tonight! Let's cheer them on. Go Red Raiders!

It's a chilly night for basketball, but our team is hot and ready to play hard. Good luck Red Raiders!

Makayla, thank you for always coming to class ready to learn. You are an excellent example for your classmates as you dedicate yourself to always working hard.

Ethan, your kindness is noticed by many. Keep spreading it to everyone in our community. It means a lot to all of us.

Congratulations, Chet on being a superstar in and out of the classroom!

Today in Bad Axe, Turlough Bennett picked up his 100th career win with a first-period pin at the Wayne Brady Classic! Congratulations, Turlough!

In Mrs. Bennett's 7th grade class, the students were practicing their skills of calculating percent increase and decrease. They were divided into teams and were sent on a scavenger hunt to find percent change questions, which were posted in various locations around the school. The solution to one problem led them to the next question.
This lesson was quite challenging because the students had to solve each question correctly in order to move on to the next one, instead of just following the posters they saw. They had to be math detectives and remember where they found the clues as they went along.

The basketball games against Sandusky are canceled due to the threat of inclement weather. Stay safe, Marlette families.

5th and 6th grade basketball is now canceled tomorrow. Enjoy the warmth of your homes, and stay safe.

Second through fourth grade elementary basketball is canceled for Saturday, January 13th, due to possible poor weather and travel conditions.

The Staff Wellness Team popped into classrooms to thank teachers for their hard work and efforts while engaging our students!

Congratulations to our Marlette Elementary School's Red Raider Pride Winners this week:
Gunner Melkonian, Delaney Marquardt, Holden Noble, Malachi Spillers, Raegan Satterfield, Bryson Smith, Kolton Measel, Connor McGregor, Charlie Machia,
Wyatt English, Jolene Peeling, Autumn Cooper, Keegan Humphery, Bentley Rolston, Charlize Miller, and Brayden Alessandrini.

When there is inclement weather, our district has a strategy for deciding whether to delay or close school.
Our Superintendent drives the roads to examine road conditions, consults with the Sanilac County Road Commission, and contacts other Sanilac County school districts to get their input.
We will err on the side of caution and cancel school, before putting anyone in our Marlette Community School family in harm's way by having school.

During recess today, our elementary students worked together to build a school-wide snowman scene worthy of being featured at the North Pole! Pictured are our 1st graders, who were fabulous helpers.

Good luck to our Red Raiders tonight when they play Sandusky! It's a great night for basketball.

Enjoy your long weekend!

The Marlette Community School District assesses our Wellness Policy at least once every three (3) years. You are invited to be part of the conversation on Wednesday, January 17th, at 4:00 p.m. at the Elementary School Library.
