MARLETTE HIGH SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONS AND CLUBS

National Honor Society

National Honor Society is designed for outstanding students across the United States. Marlette is proud to have been affiliated with this organization for over 25 years. The purpose of National Honor Society is to give students who have high grades, excellent leadership potential, good moral character, and a willingness to serve their school and community, an opportunity to further enhance these qualities. Students are nominated and chosen by the Marlette High School Faculty and once inducted into the organization, must maintain high standards throughout their high school career.

Student Council
Students increase leadership abilities by participating in the Student Council. The council organizes and sponsors homecoming activities, guest speakers, pep assemblies, fund raisers, and more.

Business Professionals of America (BPA)

Members of BPA can compete at regional, state, and national levels. There are 48 areas in which a student can compete. Marlette students consistently perform well at all levels, reaching the national level of competition on a regular basis.

Academic and Quiz Bowl Teams
The Marlette Community Schools have four Academic Teams. Members of the Science, Math, English and Social Studies teams compete against other county schools for honors. The Quiz Bowl Team competes in all curriculum areas.

Band

These groups proudly represent the school and community throughout the year by performing at area parades, concerts, festivals, and sporting events. Students are challenged as they participate in Honors Bands and Solo and Ensemble Festivals. The Marlette Music Department has a proud tradition of receiving top honors at both District and State Festivals, and is known for its service to the community.

Yearbook

These competitions not only provide grants and scholarships to winning teams, but also provide students with necessary knowledge, skills, and experiences that can be applied throughout life. The club teaches leadership, critical thinking, problem solving, team building, and skills and knowledge needed for jobs in the engineering field. The Mission Statement is: To teach and understand skills and knowledge in science, engineering, and technology applications, necessary for students to succeed in their future, while interacting and communicating as a team.
