Mrs. Lams' class recently had a fun and creative experience as part of their personal narrative unit in writing. The students were tasked with engineering bridges using straws, tape, and index cards. They had a great time designing and building their bridges. Later this week, they will write about the process they followed to make their bridge and their overall experience.

Girls, may your hard work and determination pay off!

Marlette Preschool would like to thank our special guest reader, Mr. Marshall. He read about a gingerbread boy, which our lessons have focused on these past few weeks.

Our Marlette community enjoyed some holiday entertainment from the 6th-grade, Jr. High, and High School bands. The concert also included the charming voices of the Jr. High and Sr. High Choirs. It was an enchanting evening, and a huge thank you goes out to the band and choir students for a job well done, along with Ms. Hacker and Mr. Yaros.

Mr. Marshall visited 4th-grade classrooms this week and helped kick off Battle of the Books preparation by sharing the book, “Amelia and Eleanor Go for a Ride.” The students enjoyed hearing the story and listening to Mr. Marshall’s insight on Battle of the Books, which will take place for Sanilac County Schools at Brown City Elementary School in March.

Our Varsity Wrestling team will compete at home tonight. Come out and cheer our wrestlers during their matches.

Both the JV and Varsity Boys Basketball games are canceled tonight.

The kids in Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Kim's preschool sorted pictures by hard or soft. They had to look at their picture and decide if the item would go under the hard or soft columns. Students identified bricks, blocks, candy canes as hard and pillows, teddy bears, and bananas as soft.

Congratulations to our Red Raider Pride winners this week! Ethan Meyer, Vivianne Hines, Joseph Perry, Calvin McCormick, Miracle Liu, Claire Wilson, Eli Aberts, Noah Wittbrodt, Landon Baxter, Laloni Belle, Blake Warren, Jayla Swift, Keanna Rodriguez, Harper Goss, Emily Klobnock, and Chloe Holbach.

Our Blood Drive is tomorrow. Please give the gift of hope this year for the holidays and donate blood.

Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Albertson's gym classes enjoyed some holiday stations last week! They went ice skating, rode Santa's sleigh, did an antler toss, and knocked the Grinch out of Whoville!
