We want to celebrate the incredible career of Sherri Milletics, who retired this year after making a lasting impact on our school community. Sherri dedicated 12 years to social work and 18 years as a devoted High School Special Education teacher. Her compassion, expertise, and commitment have touched countless lives. The 20th Annual Gayle’s Trail Walk-a-Thon took place on Monday, June 2. Elementary students gathered in the gym at 10:30 AM to hear an inspiring message from guest speaker Andrew Bowman—former Marlette student-athlete, marathon veteran, and two-time Detroit Free Press Marathon champion.
Special thanks to Aspire Hospital and their mascot, Scout, for providing water and granola bars to keep our walkers fueled! We were also honored to welcome back former principal Mike Distelrath, whose vision helped make Gayle’s Trail a reality.
Throughout the day, our elementary students walked the trail to raise funds for its future upkeep. Huge gratitude to Pat Kitchen, Jamie Zuhlke, and the Marlette Library for organizing this milestone event.

Our Young 5s class had a truly metamorphic moment! 🐛➡️🦋 During spring, kiddos observed their caterpillars munching their way through leaves, molting into larger larvae, then spinning themselves into a chrysalis. Then, they witnessed the final molt—emerging as beautiful butterflies and fluttering into the world!

What a finish on the track! Our 4x400m relay squad—Brayden Kirkpatrick, Nino Perna, Gabe Williams, and Luke Thomas—blazed their way to the podium with an electrifying third place and a new PR! Proud of these guys for leaving it all on the anchor leg.
In the field events, Alexandra Findlay soared to a third-place finish in the pole vault, while Julius Johnson showed true championship form, medaling in both discus and pole vault—and bringing home the STATE TITLE! 🥇
