The Book It program is still being used by many teachers at Marlette Elementary to encourage students to read for at least 20 minutes a day. The program has been around for a long time and is remembered by many parents who were once students. Some 4th graders recently earned a personal pan pizza for reaching their reading goal for October, which is a great motivation for them to continue reading and improving their skills.

Mrs. Thompson’s 4th graders spent a few fun Fridays creating scary and silly masterpieces. Thanks to a generous donation from a community member, students had numerous supplies to use to be artistically creative. The results are keepsakes that our kids can reflect upon years from now.

The students in Mrs. Cooper’s class learned why leaves change colors during the fall through a mystery science program. The class went on a nature walk to grab one colored leaf. Students did a leaf color rub to show the details of the leaf on the paper.
