Mr. Yaros is thrilled to share that two of our students have been accepted into the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Band. Christian Emerick, a freshman tuba player, and Elainena Vanderpoel, a sophomore horn player, have been selected among 100 other students from across the state to perform in November with U of M-Flint conductor Doug Burtch. Congratulations to Christian and Elainena on this fantastic achievement!

Mrs. Thompson’s class earned their LEADER letters and chose to have a slushie party as their reward. Thanks to an incredibly generous parent for donating their time to pick up and deliver 25 slushies. Following class expectations is sweet!

Over the weekend, 40 Marlette Band students and parents visited Hill Auditorium for The University of Michigan Band-o-Rama. This event included performances by University of Michigan bands together on stage for this musical phenomenon. It was a vibrant and entertaining event.

We need gently used sweatpants or pull-on pants to keep in our Care Closet should students need a change of clothing during the day. Please drop off your clothing items at the Elementary School office or send them in with your child, and their teacher will get them to the office.

Congratulations, Keanna Rodriquez for you accomplishments with your art!

It's that time of year, and we have a fun day planned for our students to celebrate.

We love our new Red Raider, Makayla Hudson and appreciate your great sense of humor.

This week Ms. Melissa was able to spend some time in classrooms talking about inclusion. She read the book "You are Enough". "Being inclusive" was defined as being kind and respectful to all classmates even when they might not look the same way, act the same way or like the same things we like. Ms. Melissa plans to visit more classrooms next week to talk about inclusion.

Pupils had the learning opportunity to create primitive models to build friction and then fire. Lots of testing and enthusiasm went into this project. They have yet to make a fire but are not giving up. The class that can get their gadgets to work will be rewarded with pizza! You can imagine the motivation!

With last night's victory over Harbor Beach, the Red Raiders clinched a share of the GTC East League title. This is the 2nd consecutive year that we won our conference.
