Isabella, thank you for checking in on your peers. Your kindness is appreciated by all.

PE-Nut stands for Physical Education and Nutrition Working Together. It's a program designed to promote healthy habits among children. The first lesson has already been conducted for our 4th-grade students; four more will be forthcoming throughout the year. These lessons contain helpful information regarding food choices, healthy food samples, and exercise ideas.

Congratulations, Gabby Martinez, on signing with St. Clair Community College Tuesday evening. Your future is bright, like a shining star—best of luck to you, as your Red Raider spirit carries a torch in your heart and on the court.

Special Board of Education Meeting - Monday, November 27, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Elementary School Library.

Happy Thanksgiving, from our homes to yours!

Mrs. Curtis’s Young Fives turkey hats that they made for Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!

4th graders worked on the writing process by completing a rough draft and then publishing a book titled, “The 13th Turkey.” Their task was to write couplet poetry for 12 turkeys and then write a couplet about how their unlucky 13th turkey met his demise. The work speaks for itself, and students did an excellent job on their books and have a keepsake they can look back on!

Mrs. Magee's students wrote about turkeys disguising themselves to avoid being served on Thanksgiving. The brave kids read their stories to the class. It takes a lot of trust to share your creative work with others, and it's lovely to watch teachers encouraging and supporting their students to build confidence.

Earlier this week, we had a Pie Throwing Contest. It was a rewarding event for PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). Students earned tickets for positive behavior during November by teachers and staff throughout the school.
Students' names were drawn, and the winners got to put a pie in the face of the staff of their choice.

For November, classrooms at Marlette Elementary competed against one another in a Food Drive sponsored by DHHS – Pathways to Potential for the Marlette First Church, which serves those in need throughout the Marlette community. Marlette Elementary students and families donated 1,871 food items to the church!!! The winning class was Mrs. Magee’s third grade, who donated 422 items to the food drive. Congratulations on winning the pizza party! Second place was Mr. Pratt’s second graders with 324 items and Ms. Fantin’s second graders with 210 items.

Six local families will receive meals, thanks to the efforts of NHS. Emily Newland, the President of NHS, Vice President Mariah O'Dell, Joseph Rohling, Nolan Greve, and Dow Huggett were pictured packing boxes with everything needed to make a Thanksgiving dinner. NHS wishes ALL Marlette families a wonderful Thanksgiving

The Elementary Student Council is having a fundraiser! You can purchase a hoodie for $28.00 or a t-shirt for $15.00.
The money and order forms are due back on December 4th. The shirts will be delivered before the Christmas break, so you'll have plenty of time to show off your new gear!

The PENut (Physical Education and Nutrition Working Together) lady visited 2nd grade last week and 4th grade today. She brought essential lessons on hand washing, creative ways to be active, and a healthy snack that included many food groups! The students love learning with Mrs. Ross!

We thank Hart Realty for bringing the elementary staff hot chocolate and donuts. On this cold, damp day, it is the perfect treat to get us through the day. We appreciate our community partners including our PTO for picking everything up from Tim Horton's.
They continuously show our educators how much they care about our staff, teachers, and especially our students.

There's no school tomorrow, so let's get out and cheer our time for a win tonight!

Gabby Martinez will sign her National Letter of Intent in the Media Center tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. We are so proud of her accomplishments and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her!

Good luck to our team, tonight!
