It will be a busy sports week with the Marlette Raiders! Come out and support our athletes!

Congratulations to Lahonna Stewart and Walker French on being awarded the Student of the Week for February 14, 2022. Keep up the great work kids!

Congratulations to our RED RAIDER PRIDE winners for the week of February 11, 2022. Well done!

This year, Paula McElroy applied for a STEM grant through the LL Foundation. The grant for $15,000.00 was awarded to our district and is renewable for the same amount for the next two years for a total of $45,000.00! The grant will be used this year to fund technology for the Engineering Club and for class. In addition to competition expenses, the monies will help purchase robotics supplies, a new 3-D printer, an oscilloscope, industrial electrical meters, and additional Engineering supplies that can also be used in our science classes.

Each week, the Elementary Wellness team has a random gift card drawing for different departments in our district. The winners thus far have been part of the transportation department, food services, paraprofessionals, and office staff. Thank you winners for your dedication to our Marlette Community Schools. Congrats to Deanna King, Carlen Rye, Cindy Rutherford, and Melissa Klatzke.

Some of our elementary staff were treated to their favorite drinks and snacks courtesy of the Elementary Wellness Team! All the hard work and dedication are well deserving of our gratitude and of course yummy treats! A special shout-out to Gentner Insurance Agency for sponsoring our treats! #Fridayfavorites #redraidernation #GentnerInsurance

In Paula McElroy's class last week, there was a unique guest speaker who visited her archaeology class. Bill Hayworth is a retired science teacher who is a Paleo Mammal expert and has collected ice age animal remains. He brought some of his collection here for our students to see and facilitated an excellent conversation with our students comparing the different ice age animals to modern day mammals. Our students were able to see and handle the skulls of a saber tooth cat, fire wolf, cave bear, giant beaver, American lion, mastodon, and mammoth. Students are studying the Ice Age animals as part of our archaeology curriculum.

Marlette Wrestling is back on top!
