Our district donated two buses to the fire department to simulate a rollover accident and an extraction drill. Because we did so, he submitted our district for a community service award, and we were chosen as the winner.

Miss Josie made Elephant Toothpaste during our science lesson in preschool today.
Elephant Toothpaste is the end product of a science experiment. With a few ingredients, a foamy mixture is made and grows slowly, and it looks like it is the toothpaste that an elephant would use. Our little ones loved watching the experiment and learning science.

We appreciate all that you do!

We are glad to have you here, Mrs. Burnham!

Oetiker, a local business in Marlette, donated four large whiteboards to our Elementary School.
Thank you to Oetiker representative Bruce Christensen, a Production Manager, and one of our 2nd-grade teachers, Ms. Caitlyn Stockmeyer, for giving the boards a test drive!

The school shootings in our nation are beyond comprehension and strike us hard, especially when it happens so close to home.
With heartfelt thoughts and prayers, we are thinking of the families of the deceased students, the injured students, and our Michigan State community.
There are no answers to the looming questions about why these incidents continue to happen, but we can continue to be vigilant and proactive locally to keep our children safe. As we make every effort to care for our students, we can have a positive effect on a day-to-day basis. Raising children that are happy, healthy, safe, and educated is something we will always commit to you and your families.
Give your kids an extra hug tonight.

Please join us for Family Literacy Night at the Elementary School!

At New Lothrop on Saturday, February 11, the Marlette Red Raiders sent four boys to compete in the individual district wrestling tournament.
John Machia lost in the first round in the 285 class. He wrestled aggressively but did not clench the win. Westley Chapin fought hard into the second round and lost a tough match.
Turlough Bennett won his first two matches, securing his place in the championship round. He wrestled offensively and dominated the match. Unfortunately, he couldn’t pull out a win and lost in overtime by a 6-2 decision. Manus Bennett was undefeated all day, bringing home his second district title. The Bennett brothers will advance to the Regional competition in Ithaca on Saturday, February 18. The girls will compete in the All Girls Regional on Sunday, February 19, in Hartland.
