🎃 Despite the blustery weather, our little ones had a blast at the Halloween parade! The rain held off just long enough for them to enjoy the festivities. Watching their excitement made it all worth it! 👻✨ #HalloweenFun

Our parade will be outdoors today!

We are looking forward to seeing you at our Community Dinner, hosted in our elementary cafeteria today.

We would love to have the parade outside, but may have to change it to indoors due to weather.

🎉📚 What an exciting milestone for our 4th graders! They just wrapped up their second classroom novel of the year, and they love the rich and engaging high-interest books from our new ELA curriculum!
In "Love, Amalia," students explored a beautiful story about family, grief, and cultural traditions. Through Amalia's journey as she learns to navigate loss, bake, and write letters with her Abuelita, they gain new vocabulary and a deeper understanding of empathy.
To celebrate finishing the book, our students enjoyed a delicious Dos Leches Cake, generously made by Keanna's grandmother! Thank you for sweetening our reading experience! 🍰❤️📖 #4thGrade #LoveAmalia #LiteracyInAction

✈️ Today in Mr. Crane's class, our students stepped into the shoes of Aerospace Engineers as they designed and tested their very own aircraft! 🛩️ The challenge? To see which plane could fly the farthest and stay airborne the longest! 🚀 It was amazing seeing everyone working together, brainstorming, and testing their creativity. We can't wait to see the results and celebrate our future engineers! 🌟 #STEM #AerospaceEngineering #FutureInnovators✈️

📚✨ In Mrs. Magee's class, students plunged into Roald Dahl's "The BFG" whimsical world! After reading the story, each student crafted thoughtful three-paragraph essays exploring the lovable giant and what makes him so special. 📝
Once the essays were complete, creativity flowed as they illustrated the BFG in one of their favorite scenes! 🖍️🎨 It was incredible to see how each student portrayed their interpretation of the character. Check out their amazing artwork! 🌟 #BFG #ReadingAdventure

🍏✨ Today, during writing time, Mrs. Cooper's 1st-grade class dove into the fascinating world of "How Apples Grow"! The students explored how apples change through the seasons, got a peek inside an apple, and discovered the different varieties. To make it even more fun, the kids tasted three kinds: golden delicious, red delicious, and granny smith! After trying them, everyone voted on their favorite and wrote a sentence about why they loved it. 🍎📝 It was such a tasty and engaging way to learn! 🍏

🎉 This week, we were awarded the L&L Educational Foundation STEM Grant for 2024, totaling $16,850! 🌟
This funding will enhance STEM learning in our high and elementary schools. At the high school, Mr. Varey's class will get a VEX IQ Robotics classroom set and four 3D printers, allowing our students to dive deeper into hands-on learning! 🤖✨
In the elementary school, we're thrilled to expand our STEM education with a new Makerspace where students can unleash their creativity by constructing various projects. We'll also introduce additional activities for our lower elementary programs.
Thank you to Mr. Lester for all his hard work in making this possible! Together, we're building a brighter future for our students! 🚀 #STEMGrant
