Miss Cook and her students have been very busy! Last week, they celebrated receiving their Leader Letters with a fun pizza party! 🍕 They are already halfway to another celebration, having earned five more Leader Letters since then—just waiting on that final one! Woohoo!
They also had a unique visitor—Courtney Pezo brought in her adorable puppy, Buddy! 🐾 The kids loved getting to meet him!
In science, the kiddos have been diving into some fun topics! A couple of weeks ago, they explored how seeds spread, and last Friday, they investigated animal habitats and learned how to identify signs of animals in the area. 🦊🐦 It’s been a blast! It has been a stellar year for Marlette BPA! 🎉 Our 27 students competed fiercely at the State Leadership Conference in Grand Rapids, bringing home 10 medals! Congratulations to Red Raiders, Alexandra Findlay and Westley Chapin, for their Top 5 finishes in Extemporaneous Speech and to Alexandra Findlay and Nolan Greve for qualifying for Nationals in Orlando! We dove into our nursery rhyme practice and had so much fun reading together, circling the words we know, and mastering fluency! This week's highlight? Our Reading Idol competition! 🎤 Four talented students took the stage on Friday, and it was a tough decision, but we crowned two fantastic winners who walked away with some awesome prizes! 🏆
But that's not all! We also enjoyed some cozy flashlight reading sessions, making storytime extra special. And to top it off, we had a surprise visit from the adorable Buddy the puppy! 🐾
