Students in Mrs. Thompson’s 4th-grade class completed an egg drop as their final lab for the year! They had limited materials and 15 minutes to build something to protect an egg dropped off the top of the tall playground slide. Students completed this lab that teaches the scientific method in the first week of school, then analyzed their data and made a new design to test during the last week of school.

Mr. Schleicher, Mrs. Albertson's, Mr. Reynolds, and Mr. Boyle's classes had a visit from the Thompson Family pig. His name is Dwight K ShROOT, and he is a 1.5-year-old Juliana pig that lives in their home. He also was trained to use a litter box, and he does tricks. Thanks to Melissa, Aila, Liam, and Asher for sharing him with our students.

Next Tuesday, June 7th, is our 16th annual Gayle's Trail Walk-a-Thon at the Marlette Elementary School. Students will be out walking from 8:30-12:00. Gayle's Trail began as an idea in August 2005 to promote the health and wellness of the Marlette Community Schools' students and staff. Through a united school and community effort, it has grown into today's beautifully landscaped and paved Trail that provides fitness opportunities for everyone. Gayle's Trail is named to honor the memory of Mr. Gordon Miller's late wife, Gayle, who enjoyed walking. Mr. Miller and his family have been instrumental in the Trail's development. Please consider donating to the Gayle's Trail Walk-a-Thon. Donations can be dropped off at the elementary office or sent to Marlette Community Schools.
