Congratulations to the 2022 Marlette Girls Basketball team for their excellence on the basketball court and, most importantly, in the classroom, with a 3.15 overall team GPA.
The Basketball Association of Michigan nominated the girls' team to the Academic All-State team with an Honorable Mention.

Important information regarding testing next week:
Students must be on time for testing because test proctors cannot admit them into the testing rooms after the test books are distributed, and testing has begun.
Once testing has begun, students are not allowed to leave unless they are not feeling well. Please reschedule appointments to avoid makeup testing at a later date.
Except for accommodated testing and 8th-grade M-Step testing, most testing should be completed around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Activities have been planned for after testing until the regular school day ends for grades 9 and 10.
Seniors are expected to attend their classes virtually on Wednesday. Seniors who attend AM/PM Career Center will be transported there and back as usual.
Seventh graders will be out of the building on a field trip from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The ENG 111 class is receiving rave reviews this semester. Students learn “synthesis writing,” for which they compare themes in collegiate writing to their own life experiences. Many students have claimed this is the most challenging course they have taken. Students will write nine papers in 16 weeks, 3 of which require multiple drafts. The course is offered concurrently through Mid Michigan College and was brought to Marlette by the exceptional Steve Barrows, who retired last year.

Our kindergarten classes truly were inspired by our March Is Reading Month. Students worked hard to create reading boards about their stories and shared details about what they learned.
Sanilac Career Center (Biotech) & Marlette High School student KC Hornbacher gave an agriculture presentation today to Lore Nickens 4th grade class. The students were thrilled to learn and enjoyed hearing from a high school student.
