Eric Hartsell is a newly hired Physical Education teacher. Welcome to our Marlette community, Eric!

First-graders started a new unit writing personal narratives. Discussions ensued that personal narratives tell a story about experiences. To practice this as a class, students had to have the same experience. The solution? A balloon hop race. Students will follow this up by writing about this experience as a class using the elements of a personal narrative.

Terry “Coach” Reid, a longtime coach, teacher, and school administrator in Marlette, was recognized tonight as the Marlette Jr/Sr High gym was named in his honor. You are missed, Coach, but forever remembered.

Our elementary students can celebrate the holidays by dressing up for Spirit Week! Let's see your creativity sparkle.

Students have been practicing counting to 100 in Kindergarten. The kids are using their Caterpillar friend by putting him back together in order from 1 to 100. They have worked in small groups this week to get the Caterpillar back in place.

The Marlette Junior High wrestling team showed up last week! Kaden Steven's took 1st place in the 145 lb weight class. Walker Chapin took 2nd in the 125 lb weight class. Mitchell Machia took 3rd in the 100 lb weight class. The entire team wrestled hard and had a fantastic meet. Please acknowledge the hard work the students demonstrated season with the help of coach Bennett and the guidance of varsity wrestlers Manus Bennett and Westley Chapin. It was impressive to watch these young athletes!

Student Council members added some holiday cheer to the high school this weekend. Annamarie Wilcox, Elizabeth Huggett, Magy Cox, Turlough Bennett, Emma Heussner, and Aaron Bower decorated the cafeteria and main entrance. One of the cafeteria trees is adorned with ornaments created by our 6th-12th grade students.
