Kelly Lams and her first-grade class had a visitor today! Officer Braegger from the Marlette police department read the book, "Library Lion," and spent time with the kids. The children loved having a visitor in the classroom and enjoyed the book.

REMINDER: If you have a child or know a family who has a child who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2023, please read the following message: Marlette Community Schools will hold an informational meeting for parents of children eligible to begin the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Headstart, Preschool, Young 5’s, or Kindergarten this fall. Children must turn three years old on or before September 1, 2023, to enroll in Headstart or Preschool, four years old on or before September 1, 2023, to enroll in GSRP, Headstart or preschool, and five years old on or before September 1, 2023, to enroll in Young 5’s or Kindergarten. The meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, March 21st, at 6:00 p.m. at the Marlette Elementary School Library. For more information, call the Marlette Elementary School at 635-7427. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend this very important meeting on Tuesday, March 21st. Parents and children are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Kindergarten Round-Up
Fifth grade worked hard reading books from a list given in November. Students read books and competed against other schools in Sanilac County on March 8, 2023. The team members include Jack Hines, Dylan Labelle, Kayleigh Fisher, Maddy Jones, Aria Bednaryczk, and coach Valerie Kneffel.
