Kelly Lams and her first-grade class had a visitor today! Officer Braegger from the Marlette police department read the book, "Library Lion," and spent time with the kids. The children loved having a visitor in the classroom and enjoyed the book.

Marlette Community Schools will hold an informational meeting for parents of children eligible to begin the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Headstart, Preschool, Young 5’s, or Kindergarten this fall. Children must turn three years old on or before September 1, 2023, to enroll in Headstart or Preschool, four years old on or before September 1, 2023, to enroll in GSRP, Headstart or preschool, and five years old on or before September 1, 2023, to enroll in Young 5’s or Kindergarten. The meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, March 21st, at 6:00 p.m. at the Marlette Elementary School Library.

Fifth grade worked hard reading books from a list given in November. Students read books and competed against other schools in Sanilac County on March 8, 2023. The team members include Jack Hines, Dylan Labelle, Kayleigh Fisher, Maddy Jones, Aria Bednaryczk, and coach Valerie Kneffel.
There will need to be a late bus for the PM route of Ms. Amy/Kim (17A Green Star) again today March 9, 2023. The same plan will be in place as for the other days. Marlette 4th graders competed in Battle of the Books in Brown City tonight. They read 80 books and did fantastic work representing the Raiders with a 4th place finish! Congratulations, kids!
It's not too early to plan for summer fun. Camping opportunities help students learn to be self-sufficient, foster life-long friendships, and explore the outdoors. Spots are available for overnight and day camps.
