4th graders are wrapping up their measurement unit by participating in "Metric Olympics." With silly and fun events like 'cotton ball shot put,' 'big foot,' 'right-handed marble grab,' and 'paper plate discus,' students did real-life measurements using the metric system. They practiced estimating to see who could get as close to their actual result as possible and were awarded medals for their efforts!

Ms. Ross substituted for STEAM and had students of all ages engineer creative buildings, an eagle, game boards, doll houses, and more. Watching the potential in students' minds is interesting to observe when they are given the tools to build and create.

The Washington, D.C. trip has been a fabulous learning experience for our students. On their first day, the students visited the Flight 93 Memorial, and it was emotional but serene and a beautiful tribute to a significant loss. Then, the students went to Gettysburg. Such history! And lots of walking in the beautiful sunshine of Pennsylvania.

Our third graders traveled to Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden on a class field trip. The kids learned about renewable resources, the local pond habitat, and how everything affects our environment. It was great to be outside with friends, learning cool science stuff.
