Last Spring, the Marlette PTO received a large donation from the local Masonic Lodge. The funds could be used for ANYTHING the students needed! It took the PTO a bit to determine that our students could use recess bags!
Basketballs, soccer balls, kick balls, footballs, and single & double Dutch jump ropes were placed in a bag, ready to go outside for recess. They also purchased sidewalk chalk for the kids to express their creativity.
Thank you to the Masonic Lodge for their donation and our friends at MVP Disc Sport for donating discs for each class.

Good luck tonight, ladies!

What would you make with one paper plate, one egg, two plastic baggies, two straws, two popsicle sticks, four cotton balls, two tissues, a desk length of string, and masking tape?
Our 4th graders knew precisely what to do with these supplies. They are kicking off their science curriculum by reviewing the steps of the scientific method. Their task is to ask a question, make a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, record the results, and then analyze them to repeat them in June. The students built egg protection contraptions to answer the question, “Can my partner and I build a contraption that protects an egg from a high fall?” Students worked together to build and present their designs to the class before dropping their eggs.
4/11 groups had eggs that survived this trial…how many will survive in June?

Thank you, Jensen for making positive choices!

Liam, you are a great example for others!

Your smiling face lights up our classroom, Jozlyn!

We are cheering for YOU!

Project R.E.D. (Rural Education Day) is designed to bring agriculture to school children in a field trip format. To educate youngsters about how agriculture touches their daily lives, Washtenaw County was the first county in Michigan to hold such an event. Since then, more than 20 county Farm Bureaus across the state have conducted a Project R.E.D. or similar event. Project R.E.D. is a great way to reach hundreds of children and teach them various agriculture and natural resource lessons. This program helps students understand the importance of agriculture and where their food is grown and purchased.
